Recording the first WNBA victory of his career, Phoenix Mercury head coach Nate Tibbetts is proud of the milestone, elated over his team’s no-quit attitude, perseverance through adversity, fending off a late comeback by the Atlanta Dream and more as the Mercury won 88-85 on Saturday night.

Kahleah Copper went off for Phoenix with a career-high 38 points and Sophie Cunningham flushed two clutch threes late in the victory

Atlanta fought back from a 12-point deficit to take a 78-72 lead until Cunningham and Copper combined for 11 points in the last 2:56 of the game.
