Jack Hendry appears to have completed his move from Celtic to Belgian club Oostende, according to journalist Alan Nixon. The central defender started Scotland’s Euro opener versus the Czech Republic but fingers were pointed at him after the second goal from Patrik Schick.

Now, Oostende have exercised their option to buy the 26-year-old. Celtic will need to reinvest the money wisely within the transfer market as Ange Postecoglou looks to build the team ahead of the new season.

Oostende have offered Hendry the opportunity to get playing again, allowing him to prove himself again and many were clamouring for him to return to Celtic. However, the performance in the game versus Czech Republic proved that he still had a number of flaws that meant that he wasn’t the right man for Celtic.

Hendry arrived for a high fee, which would have added extra pressure to the youngster. Rodgers appeared content asking him to play at right back as well as at the heart of defence; however, he has struggled to justify the price tag – often copping flak when thrown in at the deep end by Rodgers. AEK Athens away was an example of Hendry being put in the deep end and judged harshly after a few games.

Good luck, Jack.
